Tough Dog SV Adjustable Steering Damper

The Tough Dog SV steering damper gives you adjustable steering damping so you can tune the steering response to suit tyre size, road conditions and vehicle use.

Fitment

Select the correct mounting arrangement for your vehicle:

• Defender - pin to eye
• Discovery 1 / Range Rover Classic - pin to pin
• Discovery 2 - eye to eye

Important

A steering damper will not repair worn steering or suspension components. If the vehicle has shimmy, wobble or poor steering behaviour, diagnose and repair the underlying cause first. The damper is there to control steering movement, not hide a mechanical fault.

Larger and heavier tyres can increase steering kickback, so an upgraded damper can be worthwhile once the steering system itself is in good condition.

Tough Dog Heavy-Duty Adjustable Panhard Rod

When a solid-axle Land Rover is lifted, the fixed-length panhard rod can pull the front axle sideways relative to the chassis. An adjustable panhard rod allows the axle to be re-centred after the suspension height changes.

Tough Dog Stage 2 Suspension Kit

A straightforward 2-inch suspension package for selected Land Rover Defender, Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic and Perentie applications.

Included

• 4 x Tough Dog adjustable foam-cell shocks with 41mm bore, suitable for 0–2-inch lift applications.
• 4 x Dobinsons coil springs selected to suit the vehicle and intended load.

Optional upgrades

Depending on the selected variant, the kit can also include:

• Tough Dog heavy-duty adjustable panhard rod
• Tough Dog adjustable steering damper

Spring selection

Vehicle weight, bullbar/winch, rear accessories, constant load and towing use all influence the spring choice. If you already know your loaded front and rear heights or axle weights, include them with your order.

Tough Dog Stage 3 Suspension Kit

Heavy-duty suspension package for Defender, Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic and Perentie applications.

This kit combines Tough Dog 53mm foam-cell shocks with matched Dobinsons 2-inch lift coils for a strong all-round touring and off-road setup.

Kit contents

• 4x Tough Dog 53mm foam-cell shock absorbers, suitable for 0–2 inch lift
• 4x Dobinsons 2-inch lift coil springs

• HD adjustable panhard rod
• Steering damper
