Coil Spring Noise Isolators (Pair)

Stop the coil chatter. Stop the cabin buzz. Drive in peace.

If you’re running progressive-rate coils on your Defender, Discovery or Range Rover, you’ll know the downside: when the close-wound sections touch at ride height, they can transmit a dull vibration or tapping noise straight into the chassis. Annoying on the road, and even worse when idling.

Our Coil Spring Isolators fix that instantly.

What They Do

These isolators slip over the section of the coil where the windings naturally touch. The flexible, impact-resistant material forms a barrier between the coils, eliminating metal-on-metal contact and cutting vibration before it ever reaches the vehicle body.

Inside the isolator is a bonded adhesive strip that grips the spring and keeps the isolator exactly where it needs to be, even under heavy articulation and rough terrain.

How Many You Need

• 1 pair = 2 isolators

• Typically enough for one axle (top OR bottom of both coils).

• If your progressives contact in two places at static height, you may want 2 pairs so you can isolate both the upper and lower sections.

Why Gwynn Lewis/KINGPIN Isolators?

• Made from a flexible, high-durability polymer designed to survive years of compression cycles.

• Can be fitted without removing the coils – simply slip them over the touching section at ride height.

• Designed specifically for Land Rover platforms using progressive-rate springs.

Includes

• 2 × ANR3060-style coil spring isolators
(Enough for 2 springs in most setups)

Gwynn Lewis/KINGPIN Fab –  Coil Spring Isolators (Pair)

The ANR2938 isolators are a 10 mm rubber/metal spring pad designed to remove the harsh metal-to-metal contact between the coil spring and the chassis. Originally fitted to Discovery 1 and Classic Range Rover rears, they work brilliantly on Defenders too—especially where the body is hard-mounted and every vibration is felt inside the cabin.

Fitted to the top of the coil, they cut down axle vibration, reduce road noise, and noticeably smooth out the ride. Many customers report an immediate comfort improvement after installation.

Because they’re a true 10 mm pad, they’re also handy for suspension fine-tuning:

• Use as a 10 mm spacer (front or rear)

• Stack two per spring for ~20 mm lift

• Correct leaning suspension by adding one side only

• Suitable for front coils to reduce harshness

• Works with long-travel setups, but placement must be considered

Sold as a pair.
Fits Defender 90 (front/rear), Defender 110/130 (front), Discovery 1 (front/rear), and RRC (front/rear).

DOBINSONS 237lbs - Linear rate Coil - AUSSIE MADE

MOST ALL PEREnTIES HAVE BY NOW SAGGED AT THE FRONT BETWEEN 10-30mm SINCE THEY ROLLED OF THE FACTORY FLOOR

A  PERENTIE ALREADY HAS REDUCED UP TRAVEL OVER A CIVILIAN DEFENDER  DUE TO TO THE LONGER BUMPSTOP ARRANGENT (DUE TO ISUZU MONTOR)..A SAGGING FRONT END USUALLY LEAVES VERY LITTLE UP TRAVEL WHICH IS NOT DESIRABLE ON, OR OFF ROAD!

THESE COILS WILL PRING YOUR PERENTIE BACK UP TO BANG ON FACTORY SPEC!

• Perentie with factory ADF frotn bar - these will provide an 310mm LOAD HEIGHT (2" LIFT OVER CIVILIAN DEFENDER

• This rate is perfect for those who want a linear spring that will encourage good road manners without being overly harsh like some many off the shelf 'lift' springs which are often around the 280lb mark, OR likewise...TOO SOFTY (like some progrssive coils that have very soft starting rates)!

• Not suitable for our Weekend Warrior kit due to the shorter free length...we emply o longer softer linear rate coil or flexy coil here depending what type of terrain you drive.

• Encourages good cornering behaviour, which can also be helped with our custom tuned shocks, without being 'over-sprung' in terms of spring rates, winch promotes a harsh ride...like most much of the 285lbs ish off the shelf 2" lift coils on the market.
• IF y have a PTO winch with steel cable installed - contact us for a perfectly matched coil!

165bs - 460mm Free Height - Linear rate

• On a Defender D110 with Bull Bar and Synthetic rope winch these will provide an approx 310mm load height (True 2")

• Made by Dobinsons Springs to our own specs

• (this is based on a vehicle with an approx 1280kg front axle weight)

• This rate is perfect for those who want a linear spring that is long enough to remain inside of the inbuilt dislocation cone when using Superflex arms, and also using 12"+ shocks

• Particularly well suited to our Weekend Warrior kit for this reason, and also the fact that a lower spring rate will also compress better than a shorter stiffer coil offering the equivalent lift.

• This coil is suited to those who want to set their rig up for offroad use, being a softer more supple coil. Running a softer rate up front in combination with a retained rear end will encourage the front end to articulate.

• Also suited to those who are considering setting up for 'Comfort Touring" or road driving in conjunction with front and rear swaybars.

Genuine Perentie (JRA) front springs to suit all 4x4 variants (including winch models).  The original springs fitted to the 4x4 Perentie are a very good design - they lift the vehicle about 2", and are able to carry a full GVM load while still offering good unladen comfort.  Their only issue (and this applies to all springs) is that they do sag over time.  There are other spring options out there, but these Genuine ones are still an excellent choice.

For best results we recommend replacing all four springs, and also have a close look at your shock absorbers.

These springs are sold as a pair.

The Superflex front springs are a progressive rate, taper-wound, style coil design. This is a unique design as the wire gets progressively thinner in diameter at BOTH ends of the coil.

These springs on most Defenders will provide approx 2.2" lift up front

Suitable for all 4x4 Perenties and any Defender110/130 except the D90 models.

Designed to allow maximum wheel travel and flex without the need for dislocation cones or spring retainers in many of our kits, but we will still need to add rear retainers for those we are setting up for long travel as you will still be able to pop these out.

Can be used with any shock absorber, however due to the soft starting rates of these coils. we do recommend the Superior Engineering remote reservoir long travel monotube shock absorbers or even Radflo, FOX & KING if you have the budget for them.

These springs should be matched with the superflex rear springs for the best results.

These springs are designed to primarily provide great flex and articulation and ride comfort, however they will take a constant load of up to 300kg.

KINGPIN HD Rear Coil Retainer System

Heavy-duty top-and-bottom rear coil retention for Land Rover suspension builds.

This system retains the rear spring at both ends rather than allowing it to dislocate during articulation. On front-radius-arm Land Rovers, rear spring retention can be used as part of a balanced suspension setup to improve rear roll stiffness and vehicle stability while still allowing useful articulation.

Why retain the rear coils?

• Helps keep the rear spring controlled through articulation
• Supports a more predictable rear suspension response
• Can encourage the front suspension to contribute more effectively to articulation
• Avoids loose or displaced rear coils at full droop

Kit includes

• Upper rear coil retainers
• Lower rear coil retainers
• High-tensile fitting hardware

Select the correct vehicle and configuration from the options above. Contact us if you need a mixed or partial kit that is not listed.
