ZF6 / ZF8 Transmission Oil Thermostat

Compact high-flow transmission oil thermostat from Improved Racing, used by KINGPIN Fab in our ZF automatic M57 conversions.

A transmission cooler is useful, but over-cooling the oil is not. This thermostat bypasses the external cooler while the fluid is cold, helping the transmission reach operating temperature more quickly, then progressively directs flow through the cooler as temperature rises.
