DEFAB ENGINEERING ‘VOLT’ – DEFENDER SEATBOX JUMP-START & POWER PANEL

Anyone who has tried to jump-start a Defender with the battery under the passenger seat knows what a pain it can be—especially with dual batteries crammed into the seatbox.

Normally, you need to remove the passenger seat base, lift out the seatbox cover and then somehow get your jumper leads onto battery terminals that can still be extremely difficult to access.

The DEFAB Engineering ‘VOLT’ solves this problem by relocating heavy-duty positive and negative connection points to the outside of the passenger seatbox. This gives you quick, easy access whenever you need to jump-start your Defender—or use your Defender to help someone else.

The external terminals also make it quick and easy to connect a battery charger without having to remove the seat base or seatbox lid.

A handy Anderson plug is also incorporated into the panel, providing an easily accessible power supply for battery charging and lower-current 12V accessories such as a fridge.

The recessed terminal design helps protect the connections from accidental contact while keeping the installation neat, compact and out of the way.

ANDERSON PLUG – 30A MAXIMUM

**The Anderson plug must not be used for jump-starting or powering equipment drawing more than 30 amps. Jump-starting must only be carried out through the dedicated heavy-duty positive and negative terminals.**

INSTALLATION

Installation requires cutting an opening into the side of the Defender seatbox. Accurate measuring and competent installation are essential.

A detailed installation video is supplied to every customer who purchases the kit. If you are not confident carrying out the installation or working with high-current battery wiring, we recommend having it fitted by a suitably qualified automotive electrician or experienced workshop.

IMPORTANT

Vehicle and battery configurations vary. Please check the available space, cable routing and suitability for your particular Defender before installation.

Always isolate the battery before beginning any electrical work.
